About him:
Dr Teh, one of our Consultant Cardiologists had his basic education in Penang, medical education in Australia at the University of New South Wales and postgraduate training and experience at Western General Hospital, Edinburgh.
Dr Teh has extensive experience in cardiology, having worked in the different coronary care units cardiac laboratories and in liaison with cardiac surgeons at three different hospitals. Dr Teh’s proficient in interventional cardiology includes over 10,000 coronary arteriograms, PTCA with stents and implantation of permanent pacemakers.
He has well over 15 years of experience in echocardiography as well as competent utilization and interpretation of the different methods of Doppler and ultrasound in cardiology.
Dr Teh is also fully qualified to practice General Medicine and handles acute and chronic systemic diseases very competently.
Dr Teh has taught medical students at the University Kebangsaan Malaysia and prepared candidates for MRCP exams of the Royal College of Physicians. He has attended or participated in various conferences and courses. He had the honour of presenting a paper at the Scottish Cardiac Society meeting in September 1992, which was later published in the Scottish Cardiac Journal.
Dr Teh is fluent in English, Mandarin, Malay, Hokkien and Cantonese and is therefore able to converse easily with his clients in a language that is comfortable to them. He is well known in Penang for his efficient, professional and personal care. In his spare time, Dr Teh enjoys tennis, swimming, reading and music. He is married and has two children with whom he enjoys a very happy family life.
