Pantai Hospital Penang
Before 1997, those seeking medical services in the southern part of Penang Island had to travel up to the various hospitals located at the northern part of the Island. But with the establishment of Pantai Hospital, such travels became a thing of the past.
The 250-bed hospital at Bayan Baru serves the surrounding townships and the Bayan Lepas Free Trade Zone with its different divisions that include Cardiology, Dentistry, Paediatric Cardiology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Cardiothoracic surgery, Radiology and Oncology.
In 2002 and 2003, the hospital was awarded the prestigious MS ISO 9001:2000 certification by SIRIM QAS and the three-year Hospital Accreditation Award by the Malaysian Society for Quality in Health (MSQH). In 2006, the hospital successfully achieved the second cycle of the MSQH accreditation.
